Spring Runs You'll Want to Take
I love running. It’s my favorite form of exercise. You may think of NYC as a concrete jungle, but there are so many parks that are perfect for your next run. I tend to switch up my running trails depending on the time of year. Here are three of my favorites.
1. Cherry Walk in Riverside Park: April is the best time to run this trail that stretches from Manhattan Valley up to Harlem. The path gets its names from the cherry trees that line it and the next few weeks are the peak season to enjoy the blooms.
2. Harlem Meer in Central Park: I love running through the northern end of Central Park in the spring. I start along the North Meadow and North Woods before ending up at the Harlem Meer. You can enjoy passing the weeping willows and fishers on your run. You can also cool down with a walk at the conservatory garden.
3. The Loop in Prospect Park: This was my favorite run when I lived in Brooklyn. I don’t get to do it as often but I love this path in the spring. An early morning run was always rewarded with a trip to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden across the street.
