Boise Tea Parlor

High tea is a special treat I look forward to a few times a year. There are a number of places in NYC where you can experience a full afternoon tea service. Some are quiet pricy so I was excited to discover Bosie Tea Parlor which boasts a full tea for two for $66, or $33 per person.

Boise is located in the West Village. I convinced my friend Milisa to meet me there on a rainy afternoon during our holiday break from work. According to their website Boise doesn’t take reservations for parties of less than six. There was a 30 minute wait for a table when we arrived on a Friday at 2PM but their bar is full service so we sat there.

The tea for two allows both guests to choose their own pot. I got the Earl Grey Creme. The food tier is a combination of sweet and savory with assorted scones, cookies, and finger sandwiches. Milisa and I got to choose the flavors of sandwiches and macaroons. I enjoyed Farmer’s Egg Salad, Chicken Breast, and Cucumber sandwiches and Rose and Earl Grey Milk Chocolate macaroons. We also had mini scones with clotted cream and raspberry jam and butter cookies.

If you want a more elaborate afternoon tea Boise has a champagne service and the chef’s tea service which has more food items included. If afternoon tea isn’t your thing Boise has breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu options as well.
