Hi.

Welcome. I document life in NYC and my travels beyond the Big Apple. Thanks for joining me!

King Tai

King Tai

It’s been over a year since I have been to a proper cocktail bar, so I was so excited when my friend Alex asked me to meet her at King Tai in Crown Heights for drinks.

This Brooklyn bar is currently only doing outdoor seating and I recommend getting there when they open at 4 PM if you want to snag a table. They also sell cocktails to go if you want to drink at home. They have an extensive list of spirits and cocktails. I tried their two gin-based drinks, the Jeez Louise (gin, pineapple, lemon, absinthe, Suze, Genepy, and Gomme syrup) and the Bijou (gin, vermouth, Genepy, and bitters).

If you drink at the bar, COVID rules require you to order food as well. Alex and I had delicious chicken empanadas. They also have vegetarian empanadas and on certain evenings jerk inspired dishes. If cocktails aren’t your thing they also have wine and beer. In addition to prepared drinks to go, they also sell cocktail kits for two. I bought a hot toddy kit that I’m excited to try.

If you miss meeting your friends for a drink you won’t be disappointed grabbing one or a few at King Tai.

I'll be back!
