Wedding Wednesday: 5 reasons to hire a wedding coordinator

When it comes to budgeting for a wedding I see a lot of couples opting out of hiring a wedding coordinator. I don’t recommend doing that. Most wedding coordinators offer a variety of packages for their services based on your needs and how much you are able to allocate for this service. We hired a coordinator for our ceremony and reception and I know this is going to save us so much time and stress. If you’re not convinced here are five reasons to hire a coordinator for your big day:

  1. You want to enjoy your wedding day: The last thing you want to be doing on your big day is coordinating with vendors or tracking down an MIA florist. Having a coordinator will help you to be more present in the moment so you can focus on what is really important.

  2. Your bridal party and friends can enjoy your wedding day: I've been a guest at weddings that were sans coordinator where the couple was relying on friends and family present for things like tipping vendors and setting up wedding favors. That’s no fun for guests who were invited to join your celebration.

  3. You’ll save time searching for vendors: Most wedding venues will have a preferred vendors list for things like music, flowers, etc. Your coordinator will have names too of vendors they’ve worked with before, but they’ll also have suggestions for things like someone to do hair and make-up, transportation services, etc. Why waste time searching through Yelp reviews when someone can give you a list of trusted professionals?

  4. They will help you stick to your budget: Coordinators work with all sizes of budgets. If you are struggling with finding creative ideas for centerpieces, decor, or other details that fit into your budget, your coordinator can help you by pulling from their experience from past weddings and come up with ideas to make your day special without going into debt?

  5. They’ll create a timeline and schedule: They’ll make sure everyone is where they need to be when they need to be. They’ll also make sure the pacing of the ceremony and reception is planned out so there isn’t a dull moment.
