Hi.

Welcome. I document life in NYC and my travels beyond the Big Apple. Thanks for joining me!

Peaches HotHouse

Outdoor winter dining can be a bit challenging, but Peaches HotHouse in Fort Greene has a great set up. You order and pre-pay at their counter and take your beverages out to your table, which is in a private glass cabin. There is a heater inside if it is too chilly and you can prop the roof open if you want more ventilation. The servers will bring your order to you when it’s ready. When you’re finished with your meal they sanitize the entire cabin before the next party is seated.

While you are there you’ll enjoy amazing southern cuisine. On a recent trip, Lou and I both had their famous Best Chicken Sandwich Anywhere. I had the original and Lou had the spicy. There is also an extra spicy if you really want to bring on the heat. They have other Southern staples on the menu. I’ve had the catfish before which is delicious. I’m dying to try their loaded grits which are made with bacon, cheese, and sour cream. Lou and I split an order of their Collard Greens which were maybe the best I’ve ever had.

Peaches HotHouse is part of a family of restaurants which also includes Peaches Kitchen and Bar and HotHouse in Bed Stuy and Peaches Shrimp & Crab in Clinton Hill. If you are looking for flavor and comfort on a plate you’ll want to go to Peaches.
