Hi.

Welcome. I document life in NYC and my travels beyond the Big Apple. Thanks for joining me!

Cafe du Soleil

Cafe du Soleil

It’s getting colder and outdoor dining may prove challenging as we get into winter, but one restaurant that seems to be prepared for any season is Cafe du Soleil. This French restaurant on the Upper West Side has been a favorite of mine for years, but they have recently made the local news for their brilliant dining bubbles that are set up over their outdoor tables.

Cafe du Soleil currently offers a to-go and a dine-in menu. They also take reservations. Mondays and Tuesdays they have specials on their popular Moules Frites. Whenever you visit if you order the moules frites, steak, or fish you not only have the choice of how they are prepared but also the sauce they are cooked in. I had the grouper cooked in a saffron lemon sauce and it was heaven. They also serve classic French dishes such as Bouef Bourguignon and Coq au Vin.

For dessert, our party of four split the chocolate mousse and the lemon tart. If you are looking for a festive holiday feast outdoors I recommend calling Cafe du Soleil for a reservation.
