Sweet treats in NYC
I’m wrapping up this week of shopping ideas with a list of some of my favorite places in the city to pick up some chocolates or candies. Many of these places also take online orders and ship nationally. These are great options for stocking stuffers or for buying an unforgettable box of sweets for your favorite sweeties.

Dylan’s Candy Bar- In a pre-covid world I loved taking out of towners for an ice cream sundae at their Upper East Side Parlor. They also have smaller candy stores in Hudson Yards, SoHo, and Hell’s Kitchen. This is a great place if you are looking for nostalgic candy or holiday favorites.
Economy Candy- I adore this Lower East Side confection shop. They have everything from candy remember seeing at bulk stores when you were a kid to international favorites. Since COVID they have also been shipping candy care packages that you can order for a friend who’ll appreciate an assortment of treats.
Mondel Chocolates- This store has been around for over 75 years. I love popping into their Morningside Height’s store to pick up gifts for friends. Katherine Hepburn loved their chocolates and you can buy an assortment of her favorites in a gift box.
Myzel’s Chocolates- Whenever I’m running errands in Midtown I find an excuse to hit Myzel’s. They boast the largest collection of European licorice in the US which makes my partner Lou happy. I personally loved their chocolate-dipped fruits including apricot, pear, and orange.
Sockerbit- This West Village shop specializes in Swedish candy. It’s my go-to for gummies. They have some holiday exclusives too. The shop is currently only open on the weekends but you can purchase directly from their site.
