Hi.

Welcome. I document life in NYC and my travels beyond the Big Apple. Thanks for joining me!

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

I miss live theater more than any other activity since COVID. I can’t wait for Broadway to reopen in early 2021. I feel very blessed that I was able to see a few shows this year before the shutdown. The last Broadway show I saw was Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

The show was pure magic. The staging and special effects suspended reality and I was transported to Hogwarts. The show takes place years after the events of the original book series and see’s Harry’s middle son at the start of his Hogwart’s career. The play takes place in two parts which you can see over the course of two evenings or in one day if you see part one as a matinee and part two in the evening.

I went during a special promotional event this February where each week was themed for the different school houses at Hogwarts. I went during Gryffindor nights and the theater was decked in red and gold and we were given commemorative buttons for attending the show during this event. I don’t want to give any of the plot away, but once Broadway reopens if you are looking for a little magic, go see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
